Just look at the morning sunrise send off! I am going to miss these sunrises and sunsets! But we are anxious to get on the road!
We hit the road at 9:07 am. Let me tell you....it was a white knuckle drive! (For me anyway!). And those hairpin curves....it was so far down so close to the edge of the road. When you are on top of a canyon, there has to be a way to get down. But does it have to be so damn scary? Absolutely no guard rails...like that would hold back our truck and trailer....I was just thankful we made it down ok. High five to Road Hog!
But oh man, the scenery! We even passed through a town called Cliff Dwellers.
The best thing about bringing your home everywhere you go is that any pit stop you make, you can use your own bathroom. How great is that?
The layers in these canyons are just unbelievable.
As you can see, traffic was minimal. It was pretty much like this until we got to Flagstaff.
We got set up, cooked some dinner, and even had a guy swing by and fill one of our propane tanks! Its 55 degrees out and it is supposed to get down to 28 tonight. No worries though! The Flagstaff KOA wants us to disconnect our water hose at night, not for us but for them. We have a heated water hose but we have already unplugged for the night since we have a full fresh water tank, and the water pump on.
All the animals did great on the trip...it took us about 3 1/2 hours to get here, a bit more than I like to travel. But the cats did great and are looking out the windows at all the pine trees. I immediately noticed the air when I got out of the truck....fresh mountain air. It is gorgeous here!
We are here two nights, leaving Thursday, and going to Casa Grande for about 5 days. Casa Grande is supposed to be in the 80's so here we come summer! We have to unpack our summer clothes! (I wonder if it is raining in Washington????)
