Is It Spring?!

What a nice day!  It got up to 68 degrees and there was nothing but blue sky.  We sat outside for a while and read, while Tully got a little tan.

She sure loves the sun.  There were a lot of little birds to watch but that was about it.  We were behind the trailer so we couldn't people or dog watch.

Here is Road Hog, reading.  And probably drinking a beer.  There is a empty field that he is facing and that is where we hear the coyotes.  Not every night though.  Normally it is nice and quiet.  There isn't any houses back there, so no traffic.

Here is a photo of looking up in an oak tree.  Notice the blue sky beyond?  What is it doing in Washington?  Is everyone dried out?  Is it time to start mowing?

We are getting kind of antsy so we are planning on moving down the road.  One thing that has been on my bucket list my whole life is to go see the Alamo.  So we will be heading that way before heading up to Odessa again to see Aunt Jackie.  Then it is on to Amarillo to visit my grandpa's grave, then on to Utah to go camping with Ang, Ly and Murphy!  We will be slowly heading north, to visit my sister and brother in law and meet their new grandson, then we will be heading east towards the end of summer to visit my brother and sister in law.  And hopefully meet their new grandson! And, we hope to see all our rest of the family and friends in between!

Busy Days!

We've been pretty busy around here.  One of the grocery stores that we like is called Fresh.  Everything is fresh!  The vegetables and fruit, the meats, and everything else in between.  They even have this dry-aged beef thingybob in the store.  Dry aged beef.  (Ewww).  Have you ever smelled dry aged beef?  Not pleasant.  To me anyway.

They even have a humidifier for their cigars.  Road Hog was drooling.  Here and at the aged beef.  The guy with the mop was following him around, mopping up the mess Road Hog was leaving behind.

I thought these bags of chips were kind of weird.  No, I will not try crawtators or voodoo chips.  I can only imagine....If any one of you want to try these, let me know and I will get you some.  And, I will hand deliver them if I can watch you eat them.  All of them.  ðŸ˜‚

Now I think it is officially official.  We received our Texas drivers license!  I haven't used mine yet, but I will!

There aren't any Costcos here in Tyler, but there are Sam's Club.  We really don't want to join Sam's so we decided to go to Terrell, about 70 miles away, to shop at Costco.

So after shopping, dang if we didn't end up at Buc-ee's again!  Hey, it was lunch time and they have barbecue!!  Plus, they sell diesel, and we were down half a tank.  Great timing!  No photos of our food, but I can tell you that it was again very good!

Tyler Texas

It has been raining today, but before it started, we took a ride to downtown Tyler.  Look at the street.  It is cobblestone.  And old.  And beautiful.

The downtown was pretty big, and I noticed that not just in Tyler, but in all of Texas, there are some beautiful big churches.

This church is the First Baptist Church and HUGE!  This is right down town Tyler.  And this isn't the only church downtown.  So many more.

And if you are riding around and want something to eat, you can stop here at Sum 2eat.  This used to be Hattie Mae's Sum 2eat but it looks like it is closed for good.

The birds are finding the bird seed that I am leaving out for them.  Here is a cardinal.  Both male and female have been coming around, but I could only get a photo of the male.

And even though the blue jays look a bit different down here, they are still pretty noisy.  And bossy.

The woodpecker is pretty much the same though.  We have so many snow birds, finches and other kinds, that it is just so nice to see such a huge variety.

And I can't forget a photo of Tully.  And Ethel.  These two are best buds. Ethel gets upset though if Tully takes the whole blanket.  Ethel likes to be on the pillow and under the blanket.  Tully likes to be on top of the blanket, but with a corner of the blanket over her.  They are happy to be home either way.

Couple Of Days Of Winter

We have had a couple of days of winter, but without the snow.  It has been getting down to about 28 degrees at night, and about 45-50 degrees during the day.  No, I am not complaining!

I couldn't even unlock my side of the truck this morning because the lock was frozen.  Road Hog was able to get in on his side and unlock my door.  See the 28 degrees there in the middle, on top?  Freezing!

We had to run to JC Pennys again today to take back that air fryer we had bought.  We didn't care for it.  And on the way home, look what we found!  Our favorite book store!  Just a couple of weeks ago I told Road Hog that I needed a good Davenport novel.  I not only found one, I found more than one!  John Sandford is the writers name and he is good.  I was able to find another author, James Patterson, and picked up a couple of his books that I haven't read.

I went looking around in Pennys and saw this brand called Juicy.  Who would wear something like this?  Surely not ole ladies!  And I haven't seen any teenagers/young adults wearing something with Juicy on it.  Who comes up with this crap?  Who walks around with Juicy on their clothes?  Gosh, I hope that whoever wears these clothes, they aren't advertising!

Here is Lucy fast asleep.  She didn't even open her eyes when I walked in the room.   Her head again on Grandma's marbles.  I wonder what she is dreaming....

Tully is back to her normal self.  She is so excited to go for her walks, and for her chicken and rice meals.  I might just keep her on chicken and rice since it is good for a sensitive stomach.  She is getting up there in years, so it is understandable.  She'll be 8 in June, which is 48 in chihuahua years.  She is catching up to me!

It Is All About My Tully

Here is our home last night.  The wolf moon was right above us!

Tully continues to be on the upswing.  I didn't have to take her out at all last night.  It was the first time in almost a week!  She is doing so much better.

She has taken a couple of walks today, and has eaten about 3 small meals of chicken and rice, which she loves.

So, I have been worrying about something that just came to me this week.  Do you know that little story that one says to babies, about their little toes, and the little piggies?  This little piggy wee'ed wee'ed all the way home?  For some reason, the little piggy that went to market, I have always thought that it meant that the little pig went shopping.  He did go shopping didn't he?

Sick Pup

What a nice day today!!!  Today, for the first time in about 5 days, Tully is getting back to her normal self.  She must have picked up a bacteria bug from the last place we were at.  She is now eating boiled chicken breast and white rice.  Because she was feeling better, we took her to Camping World to pick up a couple of things. We then dropped her off and Road Hog and I had some errands to run.

I needed some fried chicken!  This place has the best ever fried chicken and ....

Fried catfish!  (Guess who wanted the catfish?). It was a cafeteria style restaurant, but they also fix you up to go if you want to eat at home.  Excellent place!  Pops Honey Fried Chicken.

We also stopped by JC Penny's to pick up a toaster oven.  We are going to try Emeril's.  We've been looking for one since last June, and I didn't want an air fryer, but since this is a convection oven too, we bought it.

Here is a photo, finally, of Lucy not sleeping.  She loves the sunshine on my side of the bed.  Even though it has been sunshiny throughout the days, it has been getting below freezing at night.  We have the tank heaters on, and we haven't had any problems at all.  Snug as a bug in a rug.  Or something like that.

Here is my Tully when she was sick a couple of days ago.  Poor thing.  She couldn't eat or drink.  She was so miserable and I felt so sorry for her.  She started eating and drinking today.

Look at that little face with the bright eyes.  I am so glad she is getting better!  She had so many people worried about her...

Buc-ee's!!

We have had so many friends and family tell us to visit Buc-ee's.  Its an awesome store they said.   They have everything they said.  You will LOVE it they said.  So, today we visited Buc-ee's!  The diesel was the cheapest around too!  ($3.08 !!).

And we loved it!  They sell clothes, food, alcohol, fresh barbecue, house decor, and everything else that I didn't mention!

I tried their smoked barbecue turkey breast sandwich.  Oh man.  Just look at all that turkey goodness!  Thick sliced turkey breast.

Road Hog got a sausage on a stick, wrapped in a tortilla.  I don't think this will be our only trip to Buc-ee's.  There was a lot that we didn't get to see because the store was so dang big.

So, doing all the driving that we have done, my question is why does Texas have so many donut places?  I think they have more donut places than Washington has Starbucks!  Every little town here, there is at least 3 donut places, and so many more in bigger towns!  Almost on every corner.  Do Texans like their donuts?

Tully was enjoying the sun today.  She has been under the weather, but she is starting to pick back up.

It is supposed to be on the cold side this weekend, getting down to about 33 degrees.  As long as it stays sunny, we will be good!

Here is tonights sunset.  Gorgeous!!

Welcome Home!!!

Today was moving day!  We finally hit the road at around 9:30 and had about a 130 mile drive.  Here is Road Hog getting our house ready.

Look at that blue sky!  It was pretty easy driving to Tyler.  We skipped all the toll roads because who needs to race to Tyler?  Not us!  We don't mind taking the back roads!

Tyler has so many lakes, and several of them are world class fishing lakes!

Here we are, getting set up.  It took hours and hours to set up because so many of our neighbors were coming by to say hi.  We love it here!  It was 73 degrees and lots of sunshine!  The people are so friendly, and one of our neighbors gave Road Hog a huge bag of bacon to put in the freezer.  A trucker friend of our neighbor gave him LOTS of bacon and he has been giving everyone bacon.  Road Hog says he thinks he is home....

The sites are so big!  There are lots of trees, but nothing blocking our dish!  We even have a nice patio!  And our own mailbox!  Sweet!

Here are the animals relaxing in their old home, new outside!  Lots of new things to see outside.  It is so quiet here!  We aren't near the main road, and there is so much grass for Tully!  Stay tuned for our adventures!
