Ewww!

We had to run into town today to pick up a couple of things.  Coming home, which is still miles away, you can barely see where the rv park is.  Thank goodness it is such a pretty drive.

This is another favorite spot of Ethel's.  I keep the window open so in case she hears any noise, she has a front row seat.

I took Tully out for her normal walk at 5 pm and ewwww!  There were little bugs/gnats everywhere!  Millions of them!  They covered Tully and I, and there was such a haze around here!  I have never seen anything like this.  It lasted about an hour, and now it is bug free outside.

Day of Animals and a Bug !

Well, we didn't go anywhere today so it will be all about our pets.  We did go back in to Hurricane yesterday, but that was to get some doggy treats, and because we left Tully at home, we were able to eat in a restaurant.  Mexican food!  We were seated at 11 am and low and behold, you can't order a beer until 11:30 am.  (Utah law).  So, Road Hog had to do without.  😏. Anyway, up above is Tully.  She is my little ole lady.

It got pretty warm today.  In fact, it is the first time we used our air conditioning in a long time.  We had both going without any problems.  But as you can see, the cats really love the door open so they can watch what is going on outside.

I think this is a stink bug.  It was too hot for him outside and was waving at us to let him in.  I don't think so....

Lucy found a new bed.  She looked comfortable enough.

Here is Ethel in her favorite spot.

Here is tonight sunset!  Love it!

Now listen...tomorrow is Saturday and it is a sports day for Road Hog.  So more than likely I will not be posting.  If we go somewhere, then yes, I will post.

Zion National Park

We had company yesterday.  I saw a lady sitting outside with her pup while her son worked on their older class c.  I walked over there and invited her and her pup over to our house to get warm.  This is Sandy and Tibby.  (Tibby is the pup.). Tibby is also a chihuahua, same age as Tully.  Sandy is on a little trip with her son, supposed to be gone 4 weeks, and it has been 2 months already.  She lives near the coast in Oregon and is ready to go home.  She is 80!  She did not look it at all!  I had met her a couple of days ago so I was comfortable in inviting her over.  We had a great talk!  She has lots of wisdom!  I noticed that they took off this morning so I am hoping she is on her way home.

Today we took a drive to Zion National Park.  Most of what we could say was WOW!  The canyon was spectacular!!  And we had such a nice day for doing the tourist thing!

One of the tunnels that we had to go through cost us $15.  I guess they considered us in an oversized vehicle, which means that they have to stop traffic both ways so when we travel through the tunnel, we are driving down the middle of the road.  How great was that?  We also bought a natural park pass for all of the states, good for a year.

This video is the last few moments in the tunnel, then coming out the other end.  So beautiful!

We got out a couple of times to take photos.  There were quite a few people, but most of them were parking and then hiking the trails.  Some were stupid enough to stand in the road taking pictures.

Every where we looked, there was a different photo.

There were a couple of places for camping, after coming out of the canyon.  Mostly tents.  There were a lot of places to stop and shop, or stop and eat, but we didn't even bother.  We had a backpack of goodies for us, and bones for Tully.

Once we got home, it took hours to down load my photos to iCloud.  We didn't have internet a lot of the time we were in the canyon, so once we got home and connected to our winegard, the download started.  I guess I should have not taken so many pictures!

I'm not too sure what, if anything, we are doing tomorrow.

Our windows outside need cleaning!  Maybe that is what we can do before taking a trip over to Bryce Canyon National Park.

When we got home and relaxed for a while, we went to turn on the kitchen faucet, and had no water!  No hot or cold.  The sink in the bathroom worked fine....

While we worked on the faucet, Tully and Ethel Louise were catching some rays.

After some investigating, we found that the sprayer nozzle needed to be taken a part and the little stupid plastic thingybob taken out.  I think it had to do with the water flow.  (Its in the garbage now.)  Road Hog put it back together and we now have water in the kitchen sink.  I am so glad because I was afraid Road Hog would have to do the dishes in the shower!  😄

Hurricane !

No, we didn't have a hurricane.  We drove into Hurricane to do some shopping.  And once again it was in Utah.  And once again, I had to deal with the stupid clocks.

We shopped at Camping World, picked up a few things that were needed, or wanted.  We did a lot of shopping at Camping World in Burlington Wa and this store in Hurricane did not even come close to the excellent store in Burlington.  Burlington's store is nice and big, all laid out like it should, huge aisles, and lots of stuff to select from.  The store in Hurricane was so much smaller, not a lot of stuff, and no place to park.  The store was more into selling RV's then selling stuff.  But, we had fun, and Tully was with us...she likes shopping too!

We then went shopping at Albertson's.  Picked up some seafood, veggies and fruit.

We made it back home an hour earlier because of the stupid time zone.  Have I mentioned how frustrating this is for me?

Tomorrow we will be running into Fredonia to pick up our mail from the post office.  We might even find some Mexican food for lunch.

Tully, Lucy Lu and Ethel Louise are all doing fine.  One of our neighbors here in the park has a pet cat that leaves the RV and walks around their area.  He isn't interested at all in running away like some cats that I know.  The cat isn't on a leash and is 13 years old.  Goes in and out all day.  I pointed that cat out to our cats and they just ignored me.  They must be frustrated at the time zone too.

It has been pretty windy here, but oh man, the nice weather....65 - 70 degrees.  By the weather reports, we are so glad we aren't in Washington!  Gene, hold on to your hat during your storm!  And Tully sends you a hug!

Arizona State Line

Well, I finally got a photo of the Arizona sign.  We went in to Kanab to find a grocery store.  There was only one in town so we had to make do.

Does anyone know what the F stands for that is on the side of the mountain?  No, not that!  It stands for 'Fredonia'.

Every where you look, there is a view.  If you don't have a RV, you can rent out cabins.  They get pretty busy during hunting season.

What is next?  We have a couple of choices.  We could take a day trip over to see the north rim of the Grand Canyon.  (I have never seen any kind of rim of the canyon!)

It is about 74 miles from us.  Not that big of a deal if you want to see the canyon!

The Coral Pink Sand Dunes is about 40 miles away, and I think that is where I saw those caves that I want to visit.  There is also Zion's National Park, Jacobs Lake, and Bryce Canyon National Park.  So many places to choose from!  Maybe I will let Tully decide....I think it is her turn to pick!

Laid Back Day!

We did nothing today but relax!  (And try to figure out what time it is!). I did manage to get a sunset photo of last night.  Beautiful!  I have so missed Arizona!

What beats a sunset photo?  A sunrise photo!  This photo doesn't do justice to the bright colors!

Tully didn't do much today either.  Just a couple of walks, sat outside in the sun, took a nap.

And here is tonights sunset.
We plan on going into town tomorrow.  The town of Kanab.  Does anyone see a problem with this besides me?  Kanab is in Utah.  Utah is on a different time zone.  I can't wait...

Does Anyone Really Know What Time it is?

Here is Tully, all ready to hit the road and leave Beaver Utah.  We left at 9:40 am, and we plan on being on the road for 2 1/2 hours.  Here is my dilemma...We got here at the park at 11 am, but it really did take 2 1/2 hours to get here.  Can you see where I am going with this?  We are now on Arizona time!!!  Do I change Tullys dinner time again? You know, this stupid time thing just might stop my traveling!  I bet that song Does Anyone Really Know What Time It Is sang about someone traveling across the stupid time zones!

Here we are leaving Beaver and just look at all that traffic!

The mountains are slowly changing...and we are seeing a bit more trees.

As long as I can see our fifth wheel in our shadow, then everything is OK!

The colors were beautiful going through the mountains!  And as you can see, not much traffic.  Moving during the week makes us miss all the weekend traffic.  😉

The mountains are changing yet again!  Wow, there is a car in front of us.

We passed some caves that were over by the Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park.  I think we will go back and visit those caves.

Here we are...home again.  Tully has a dog park where there is grass, but we have no grass around us.  But she really doesn't mind because when she pees, she has a great view!

It is 75 degrees, and it is supposed to get down to 34 degrees.  I can live with this.  We are here until Nov. 9th, then it is on to Flagstaff, Az.  Man, this retired life is something else!  I thought I had everything down, but these stupid time zones need to be dealt with.
