Made it to Alamogordo!

We made it to Alamogordo!  This is Lucy's face before we told her that today was a traveling day.

This view is when we were leaving Silver City.  Not many people on the road and it was about 9 am.

Most of the scenery was gorgeous, but not all the time.  New Mexico is pretty flat.

There were a couple of hills.  And as you can see, traffic was pretty light.

Tully slept pretty much the whole way.  Sometimes she sleeps on the console or she sleeps on my lap.

Can you tell we are coming up to White Sands?  It was beautiful!  I think we will visit it when we are here.

We had to stop at the US Customs and Border Protection.  There wasn't a line at all.

We were number 3 in line, and once it was our turn, the guard asked us if we were US citizens, we said yes, and he waved us through and told us safe travels.  Nice guy!

Here is where we are staying until Friday, the 26th.  So far we can hear the trains going by, and our next door neighbor owns a motorcycle.  I think we were spoiled by the large pretty sites at Rose Valley in Silver City.  Such fun times!  We got here and it was 65 degrees and it looks like the low will be around 36.  Not too bad.

This is the old Alamogordo Southern Pacific Railroad Water Tank.  It is located next to the railroad line but I don't think it is in use anymore.
