A Fly By!

We had a fly by yesterday morning.

Or maybe it was a fly over! We were able to see the flame burning and the people in the basket. No, there is no way I would be in that basket! I’m at the age where I could easily have a heart attack, and being in that basket would surely give me one!

Here is our view out the back of the kitchen window.

It’s supposed to get down to 30 degrees tonight, and the high today was 55 and sunshine. The most perfect weather! We even barbecued a game hen for dinner tonight.

Ethel Louise is getting a rub down. Normally when Ethel is being petted, she’ll start licking you. Then out of nowhere she’ll take a chunk out of you.  It’s all out of love. 😂

Pahrump, Nevada!

Our last night in Laughlin. I was able to capture the moon with planet Venus above it.

God Bless America! We got on the road about 9:45 this morning.

The trip wasn’t like the above the whole way! We had mountains to climb! For some reason, this trip was kind of stressing to me. I think it was because of the passes we had to go over.

We had to pass through Las Vegas. No time to stop and gamble!

We had to take I-15 to get to Pahrump.

Yep, there are some mountains we had to get over.

And we went through Red Rock Canyon. It was gorgeous! There was still snow on the ground going over the pass, but the sun was shining and it was almost 50 degrees!

God Bless the U.S. Army!

We are back in Pine Tree country! Here is our set up! We are staying at Preferred RV Resort and it’s beautiful here! Lows will be in high 30’s which is perfect for a good nights sleep! We are here until April 10th and plan on visiting Death Valley. I can’t wait! And of course there are a couple of casinos in town!

Our fee for a pull through, and full hook ups is only $31 a night. We are members of passport America so being a member came in handy!

Last Night In Laughlin!

This is our last night here in Laughlin. It’s been nice, and we have met a lot of nice people.  Tomorrow we head to Pahrump, NV and we will be there for 2 1/2 weeks. Looking at the weather, I think it is still winter there! Oh darn!

Here is Ethel Louise, gearing up for winter!

Here at the park they have a shuttle service where they pick you up at your camp and take you to the casino. We tried it out and spent a couple of hours gambling, and had their buffet dinner. They then pick you up and take you home. That must mean we didn’t lose our home! I think by the time we left, we were about $70 bucks down.

Here is the Colorado River, looking across at Arizona. It was a beautiful day for gambling! If you’re going to lose a couple of bucks, you don’t want to do it on a rainy lousy day!

Pahrump is about 108 miles away so hopefully the roads will be decent. We had some bumpy roads coming here so let’s hope the roads in Nevada fair a bit better.

Laughlin, Nevada!

Here is yesterday’s sunrise in Quartzsite.

We left Quartzsite just after 9:30 this morning, on our way to Laughlin Nevada!

We had to cross the Colorado River, (more than once!)

Welcome to California!

We had to go through the California Inspection Station. We stopped, the lady asked us if we had any plants and Road Hog said yes. (We have a lot of house plants). The lady then asked us where we were going and Road Hog said Laughlin. She said to go on through. So we did.

We had lots of road!

And not a whole lot of traffic!

God Bless America!

It’s kind of nice that we can just pull over for a pee break!

Downtown Laughlin, taken from the other side of the Colorado River.

Going across the Colorado River once again!

Here is our set up. 65 degrees. Beautiful weather!

A close up of our view. The park that we are in is called Don Laughlin’s RV Park. It is huge, with so many levels. We are at the top level and we have the views and quietness! Do I see gambling in my future? We are here until Friday so I hope we don’t lose our home!

Saturday Shopping!

Here one of our sunrises. It’s so beautiful here!

Oh oh. What do I see here? A mobil tech! Road Hog found out that our neighbor was having problems with his fridge, so we split the service call with him and had the repair guy and his son do a couple of things for us.

This is in the basement on the side of the trailer, in the back. Road Hog wanted the repair guy drill a hole from the underside up to the kitchen floor so we could run our starlink modem wire up to the kitchen. We normally have our modem sitting in the basement, but because it had to go through walls, we weren’t getting a strong signal in the bedroom.

The repair guy did a pretty good job. Now we can leave the modem in the kitchen and not worry about it.

We were also missing a screw for the slide cover on the living room slide. Fixed!

Does anyone have a spare $25 thousand laying around?

We went into town and there was a huge amethyst for sale. This thing was taller than me! $25 thousand!

We stopped at Silly Al’s for some pizza. I can’t even remember the last time we had a decent pizza. We got the meat lovers which really hit the spot after shopping all day in the sunshine!

Here is Tully and Ethel Louise enjoying the warm weather.

Relaxing In Quartzsite!

Yesterday, we got on the road about 9:30 am. What we were supposed to do is drive straight out of our pull through but because we had a tree that was pretty close, Road Hog decided to back up and leave behind our site.  I have to admit, he is getting pretty good hauling our huge home around! The back up was flawless! And we did this in the rain! Lots of thanks go to our neighbors Chuck and Sandy! Hope to see you two down the road!

God Bless America!

God Bless America! Look at that rain! Reminds me of Washington! It took us forever to go through Phoenix! Next time we will by pass that city!

God Bless America! This part of Arizona has almost the same amount of American flags as Texas!

Here we are coming into Quartzsite! What a beautiful day!

Here is our view out the back. Nothing but desert! It’s gorgeous here! Low 70’s and there is no humidity! We’ve been taking Tully on her walky walks out there and there is so many new smells!

We weren’t all the way set up here. But we have a huge space, enough room for the truck to be parked next to us.

We are in with the big rigs.  The roads are huge, the people, travelers and hosts, are all so nice. I can see why people spend the winter here.

I’m doing so much better! Tomorrow is day 5, and my last day of ivermectin! My voice is almost all the way back, my ears are almost all the way unplugged, and my cough is so much better!
