Crazy Weather!

Here is our sunrise on Saturday morning. I think it is called calm before the storm.

The over pass has some great creative fences.

We are surrounded by snowy mountains.  And yet our weather has been in the mid 60’s.

Guess who found a buddy?  This goat lives here at the park and the owner is trying to find a girlfriend for him. The problem is that all the girl goats are so much bigger than he is. He is a lonely goat and if you know of a female goat looking for a partner, please let me know. (Note: I’m talking about the real goat and not Road Hog!)

This is Jake. He is the owners dog.  She whispered to me that Jake is 17 years old, and I asked her why she was whispering she said that she didn’t want Jake to hear. She told me that pugs don’t normally live to be 17 and if Jake doesn’t know how old he is, then he would just keep living.

Here is Saturday’s sunset. Another calm before the storm.

Here is the sunrise on Sunday morning, the day the storm came through. We had high winds which we felt because it was coming on the drivers side of the trailer. We were beaten with rain, ice and snow, and even had snow built up on some windows. Since it was 44 degrees, the snow didn’t stick around for long. But man, that wind was bad! We woke up this morning to 29 degrees, but it didn’t take long to reach 60.

Ethel Louise found a sunny window.

We are on our way to Casa Grande on Wednesday morning. We will be there for 2 weeks to visit our son Michael and his fiancée Sid.

After 2 weeks, we will move to Quartzsite, AZ for about 5 days, then on to Laughlin, Nevada.  Slowly heading up north. Hopefully it will be spring!

Bowie, Arizona!

We got on the road around 9:30, and as you can see, a beautiful day for a drive. Cats and dog loaded up, ready for a 3 hour drive.

I think the skies had more traffic then we did!

Two minutes leaving the park we crossed over to New Mexico. The town of Anthony is half in Texas and half in New Mexico.

We got to the inspection area where we had a green light and we drove on through.

New Mexico has some beautiful rock formations.

Whoohoo!!! We are now in Arizona!

Here is our setup. We are staying five days and for a pull through, full hook up it was $100 total. For 5 nights! Cash! The sites are smaller than what we are used to, but we fit just fine.  We are surrounded by mountains that have snow on them, and yet we had a 67 degree day, and no wind!  We are close to the town of Wilcox so we will go into town tomorrow and fill up on diesel and food.

Last Day In Texas!

Here is our view out our door. Gorgeous and no sand or dirt blowing! We’ve had a pretty calm day today. Not too far from us, 100 mph was recorded yesterday during the wind storm.

About 3:30 this morning, the coyotes were screaming.  I woke Road Hog because his window was open and I didn’t want him to miss the noise! Did I get a thank you? Nooooo. So if the coyotes are out there tonight, I’ll wake him again! 😂

The neighbors were gone and this little birdie spent forever waiting for someone to come to the door. It was such a fat little bird.

Tomorrow we are heading to Bowie, AZ. Just in case you didn’t know, Bowie is pronounced Boo-e.  (No, I didn’t know this until someone corrected me. And I think we all know who that someone was!) We will be leaving Texas! It seems like it took months and months to drive across Texas.  Well, we did have a ten week break! 😏 On to Arizona!

Camp Full of Rockin’ Trailers!

Here is a photo of the Great Wall. We passed it when we were going through El Paso.

This photo was taken yesterday, and it is to show you just how clear the sky was. Barely any wind, and over 60 degrees.

Here is the same place, but we are in a middle of a high wind storm. Add dirt and sand to the wind and we now have no view.  All the trailers were rocking today! We did pretty good.  We stayed home all day because Tully doesn’t like the wind, plus we wanted to make sure our home was solid. And it is! We had gusts up to 70 mph, but it mostly stayed at 30 mph.

500 is the highest you can go in air quality.  The wind is supposed to die down at 8 tonight, so I hope they’re right. The wind didn’t affect our star link that is up on the roof…Road Hog did a great job securing it.  We have places to go tomorrow and people to see so let’s hope it is nice and quiet!  We’re moving on down the road on Friday.

Anthony Texas!

We were packed up this morning and we hit the road before 9:30.  Easy Peasy! Sun is shining, and 55 degrees. Perfect traveling weather!

We got back on highway 10 west and this should take us all the way to Anthony. God Bless Texas!

Can you tell we are in west Texas?

We went through some beautiful country!

It isn’t so flat heading towards El Paso.

We needed to do a pit stop, this place was closed years and years ago but guess what?

We pull our bathroom!  Look at that blue sky!

We don’t travel as fast as the truckers.  We finally made it to mountain time. That means our clock, watches and phones lost an hour. Do you know how hard it is to explain to Tully that her dinner will now be an hour late? How about explaining to me that I have to stay up an hour later?

Here is our set up.  We are surrounded by mountains.  It was hell coming through El Paso….we got down to one lane because of all the construction going on. So with that delay, and the delay of losing an hour, I am so ready for bed!

We walked Tully up to the dog park and the magnify circle is where we are parked.  The sights are huge, 50 amp, water and sewer, and $36 a night! What a deal. And the park is right behind a Camping World! Oh darn!

Tully did find some grass at the dog park but it was kind of dry.

And here is Ethel Louise relaxing after the drive.

We are here until Friday, then on to Bowie, AZ. We will drive right through New Mexico, and stop when we get to Bowie.

Fort Stockton, TX

Here is our setup at Fort Stockton Resort and RV Park. It is a huge camp ground, mostly filled with workers that work out in the field. Also, there are a lot of people that come in for a couple of days before their next move.

Do you notice anything different about this camp?  Not one blade of grass for Tully to squat on! And let me tell you, she’s been looking!

God Bless Texas!

We have had perfect weather, mid 40’s at night and high today was 72, with a slight breeze.

Even where the pond is, no grass anywhere!  I think Tully will be glad when we leave in the morning. Maybe Anthony will have a few blades of grass to pee on!

Here is our updated schedule. I had Road Hog add in the cities and states. If you want a bigger photo in order to read it, click on it. I will add the next couple of months sometime this week.

On The Road Again!

We have been busy! We went into Bandera last Saturday to have an early dinner.  That was not to be. Bandera was having a parade for their Mardi Gras.  Talk about loud! Make sure you have your volume up when playing the video!

Bandera has less than a thousand people that live there, and there were thousands of people there on that day.

Needless to say, we had to park more than a mile away and walk through loads of people only to find out that the steak house we wanted to try only had a limited menu…one that didn’t include steak or fish and chips, which is what I was hankering for. We shopped a bit then went home to fix something to eat.

God Bless Texas!

God Bless America!

Here is one of our last sunrises. (Not last of our lives, but last in Pipe Creek!)

Ethel Louise and Tully May.

This morning we hit the road.  32 degrees and lots of wind. But look at that blue sky!

The drive was pretty much effortless, for me anyway! Not a whole lot of traffic, but we were in a convoy a couple of times. Go truckers!

God Bless America!

Did you know that Texas has a pyramid? This is heading towards Fort Stockton. We are parked in a huge camp ground, and we will be here until Monday, going on to Anthony, TX.
