About Time, Huh?

We have had a couple of storms come in, which we really needed the rain. And we had lots.

Unlike Washington, it rains here one day, sunshine the next, with blue skies. No gray here! No gray clouds, no different colors of gray. So we really don’t mind this, especially since the ground needed the water.

Sometimes we have skies that look like this, and no rain.

Tully has to make sure I’m still here.  We’ve had a couple of mornings below freezing so she likes to cuddle in her blanket until the sun comes out.

A huge shout out to my cousin Kyle. He came home from the hospital yesterday after a couple of health issues. Aunt Jackie was home at the time when Kyle fell ill, and literally saved his life when she called 911. Welcome home Kyle and huge thanks to Aunt Jackie and Daurice.

Huge Storm!

We had a huge storm yesterday morning.  Look at those angry clouds.

Road Hog had a truck appointment at Ford, so he missed it completely. The rains came, lasted 5 minutes, then the sun came out.  Road Hog came home hours later with the truck, which had a lot of stuff done. Alignment, new filters, a couple new tires. We could have bought a new truck! But, the truck runs great, and it will be pulling our home next month, so it needed to be done.

Here is Ethel Louise.  She is trying her hardest to get comfortable and to stay away from her sister who has a bandage on her foot.  Lucy has ‘vet’ smells and Ethel doesn’t like her right now.πŸ˜‚

We went out to eat yesterday and ended up at The 4 Way Bar and Grill. I had chicken, and Road Hog had a bacon cheese burger. No photos of the food, we were hungry.

But they had a pool table!  Gene, I hope you’re practicing too!

Here is this morning’s sunrise. It was in the upper 60’s today which was great.

Here is my Tully.  Her turn on the pillows.

Today, I made fresh mango salsa.  I use all fresh ingredients and I use this salsa on….

our fish tacos.  The tortillas were made today by H-E-B, the best store around!  The tilapia was also fresh.

It has been a while since we have had fish tacos. I don’t know why we waited so long. They were excellent!

Still Alive!

We went for a walk on some of the acreage that the park has.  The magnifying area is where we are.  We haven’t had the time to walk the property much because of Road Hogs knee.  Since he has a new brace, it has really kept the pain down.  MRI will be scheduled tomorrow. Doc thinks he tore his meniscus. We won’t really know until his MRI.

We have been having high 70’s weather.  It isn’t too often that we are able to put our awnings out…remember, we’re in Texas.  But most mornings we are able to put them out for about an hour, then the winds come.

X marks the spot!  We keep the awnings out until the breeze picks up to about 10 mph, then we bring them in.

Today was window washing day for Road Hog. We have a lot of windows! That blue thing sitting on the ground is our water softener.  That right there was a great buy! No more buying water! And each time we regenerate, it takes 2 boxes of regular table salt. It takes about 30 minutes to regenerate, then we are good for about another 30-40 days. This last time it was a bit sooner because we had to take care of our Truma on demand water heater. About once a year we have to do something called a descale. That takes about 2 hours, descales everything, and then we are good to go.

Lucy visited the vet this morning. She needed some claws clipped, a rabies shot, and she should be able to get her bandage off on Friday.

She was so hungry when she came home, since the vet said she might be put under, and shouldn’t eat after 10 last night, but she allowed the vet to clip her nails without any problems.  That little part was hard to believe.  But, the cats will be turning 14 in April, so she must be mellowing out in her old age. Man, I wished everyone did this in their old age! 😁

A Hot Winter Day

We hit 80 degrees today. I think Lucy was trying to cool off.  We have a pile of pillows on the couch in front of an open window that she enjoys laying on.

I think the breeze was hitting her just right.

Tully is sitting on Road Hogs lap.  Lots of sunshine coming through.  She is such a little cutie!

I bought a six pack of this but I thought it was cider.  It’s Redd’s Hard Apple Peach beer!  This drink went down easy! Perfect on a hot winter day! It also comes in strawberry, black cherry and apple.  (Sold everywhere!)

The weather is supposed to cool off tomorrow.  A high of 65.  We’ve been working on our schedule, heading north on February 17th, then we will spend a couple of weeks in Arizona to see my son and fiancΓ©e, and their dogs.  Once we have the schedule locked in, I will post it.

Road Hog is seeing a doctor in the morning about his knee.  Then next week we are getting the truck worked on, a couple of new tires put on it, and it should be ready to pull our home next month.

Barbecuing Weather

Another Texas sunset.  Do you see that shiny thing towards the right of the photo? That shiny thing is a window of a big machine that is putting in 46 more sites here at the park.  They have lots of land to work with, but I bet it’s going to be a lot of work for our managers.

If you look real close, you can see some deer around the trees. They’ve been hanging out here all day, probably because of the shade in the 72 degree weather.

We always have a looky lue when we barbecue.

Lucy likes to watch us.

Today it was chicken wings and Cesar salad.  Yes, we can barbecue in January.

The neighbor that was caught beating his dog is leaving.  He and his wife have been moving this past week, and he should be completely gone on the 11th.  The managers that had to deal with him are huge animal lovers like we are.  What does it take to be nice to your animals?  If you mistreat them, why even have them? We are so lucky that we have met animal lovers like ourselves.  It’s just another thing we have in common while traveling in our trailer.  We’ve even met some travelers walking their cats on a harness.  I think Lucy and Ethel Louise are too old to be trained on a harness.  They will be 14 come April and both are still in good health.

I also want to say to Aune, have fun in Maricopa! Give me a call when you can.  And Gene, no Chester’s, and keep the fire burning!  Miss you both!

Happy New Year!!!

Happy New Year!  I don’t think any of us stayed up to bring in the new year.  The fireworks obviously didn’t wake Ethel Louise up from her slumber.

Tully hates fireworks, but they weren’t all that close and with her being under blankets, it helped tremendously.

Lucy slept through the fireworks too.  Aren’t her eyes so pretty?

Another sunset.  Gorgeous!

I’m not sure how you chew on your bones, but this is how Tully does it.

We’ve been done with the cold weather, now we are in the mid 70’s.  It gets about mid to high 40’s at night which is about perfect.  Still too hot during the day though! πŸ˜‚  Here we are, barbecuing in the month of January.

Today is my Auntie’s birthday!  Happy birthday Aunt Jackie! πŸ’•πŸŒΉ love and miss you! XoXo
