If You Want A Good Time, Call ....

If you want a good time, call Aunt Jackie!  This past week went by so fast!  I think we should stay here all winter!  Aunt Jackie and Kyle came by yesterday to say their goodbyes.  I will miss them.  We have plans to hook up in the spring.

We had a storm front come in last night.  Lots of wind and rain.  This was this mornings sky.  Blue sky even when we are storming!

By the time we were up and packed, it was nice and dry, and so fresh smelling!  No oil smells in the air!

We were on the road by 9 am and arrived in Brownwood just before 1 pm.  So a long drive today.  We passed all the fields that were being processed....guess what are in the rolls?  No, not hay or silage, but cotton!  There are machines picking the cotton!

And can you tell that it is Friday?  Look at that....no traffic!  We take the back roads!  And most of the roads today were nice and smooth!

This photo shows how dry it is.  See the dust line on the left of the photo, going towards the center of the photo?  That was a truck driving on the dirt road there.

This was in one of the small towns that we went through.  Texas Longhorn.

Look at the temp!  We got here and it was 86 degrees!  But it isn't a 'hot' heat.  Nor is it a 'warm' heat.  It is a 'cool' heat, especially with both air conditioners going in the fifth wheel!  We, and the animals, are nice and cool!

We are coming off a hill and there is Brownwood!  It looks pretty big!  Aunt Jackie told us that Brownwood is the Pecan Center.  Time to pick up some nuts!

Here is our parking spot.  We are surrounded by pecan trees.  Our place is nice and level and there is grass for Tully to pee on.  In front of the truck is....(below).

The river.  Well, the name is Pecan Bayou.  I think this is the first Bayou I have seen in person.  Kind of reminds me of a river.  Lots of pecan trees, and lots of nuts on the ground.

Ethel is pooped from 4 hours of driving!

After setting up and resting, we went into town and got some food to go.  Road Hog says this was the best cat fish he has ever had.  We also had shrimp, salad, rice and beans and okra.  It was excellent!
