Today we went on a little adventure to a place called Cauldron Linn. The last time we were on the freeway, it was 35 degrees and we were in a middle of a snow storm. Today, it was 70 degrees and we got in a different storm!
Can you tell what kind of storm?
How weird is this? I think that car is going to disappear!
The only scary thing about this was we couldn't see a damn thing once we were in the storm. Our vision came back to us when we were leaving the storm.
We were only in it for maybe a minute, and once we came out of it, that was it. The one and only dust storm.
On to Cauldron Linn. A little something that Road Hog found, and since we are leaving in the morning, this was our last chance to see what Cauldron Linn was all about.
Cauldron Linn was part of the Oregon Trail. It is also known as Star Falls. It is part of the Snake River that is forced through a passage less than 40 feet wide.
Not much as changed since 1811. There isn't any guard rails or paved paths, hence the reason we didn't drive down to the water.
During this time of year, the water level was pretty low. The best time to see the falls is during the spring run off.
The cars and truck that did make it down there, drove in the water....pretty stupid in my book.
Just by looking at it, it looks like some of that water is pretty deep.
I think this sign pertains to the run off in spring.
