Emergency Room Visit

I noticed on Monday afternoon that Tully wasn’t feeling so hot. She never goes without eating and when she didn’t remind me to feed her dinner at 2:30 pm, I knew something was up. She was drinking water and peeing fine, but her tail was between her legs, and she just wasn’t her spunky self. We decided to take her in to the animal emergency room Tuesday morning. She was wanting something to eat that morning and I gave her a couple of teaspoons of her white rice and chicken. Once she ate that, she climbed up on the chair and was doing a little crying. Poor thing. So we looked up where the hospital was and took her there. They’re open 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.

Here is our drive in to the hospital. We ordered X-rays and blood draw. The blood draw was to start her on anti-seizure medication. She has about 4-6 seizures a year that last a few minutes. But her last seizure was last week and it was about 20 minutes long. Normally a vet wouldn’t start a dog on anti-seizure medicine if there is only 4-6 seizures a year, but because her last one was so long, the vet explained that seizures that long could cause brain damage. So we decided to go with the vet’s suggestion.
It turns out Tully has hardening of the vertebrae, mostly up around her neck. She was put on pain medication and a muscle relaxer. It’s amazing how well Tully feels now! She takes her medicine like a trooper, and is so much more like herself.

Everyone at the hospital told us what a sweet little girl she is.  The vets and nurses at the hospital were one in a million. We got so lucky picking this hospital. You talk about a very caring facility!
How lucky are we not to have something seriously wrong that she might’ve had to go through surgery? Tully will be 9 in June and I honestly think she deserves a party! 😂

When we got home from picking her up, we celebrated with a pizza. We have a blackstone griddle, and if we have a thin crust pizza, we cook it on the griddle. Best ever! Doesn’t even take 10 minutes before the cheese is melted and the crust crispy. Both burners are on low, and I have the lid down. It comes out perfect. I also cook Papa Murphy’s pizza like this. I keep the pizza on it’s cardboard bottom for about 2 minutes, then slide the pizza off onto the griddle.

Even though it seems like we just washed our home, it was filthy again from all the wind, sand and dirt storms we have gone through. Today was the day it was washed again.

It’s so nice to be able to see out the windows again! A guy and his son came out and charged us $3.50 a foot. It was a pretty good price.

For some reason this photo makes our home look huge! I guess it is kind of big. But with 2 cats and a dog, we all need our space!

We are leaving Friday morning to head to Likely, CA. We were there last year and really enjoyed the park. The place is called Likely Place Golf & RV Resort, and they have lots of places to walk, all out in the middle of nature. We are about 157 miles from there so it shouldn’t be too long of a drive!
