Finally! 8 Weeks! We Are Finished!

Well, we have been in our new home for 8 weeks and all the extra’s that we paid Lazy Days to have done before we picked up our trailer are finally done!  Mind you, not done by Lazy Days! Today our repair guy for the satellite came by and he was able to move the satellite receiver to the bedroom and bring the joey out here in the living room.

There was no room in the living room for the receiver, hence why it sat on a hassock.  And because it sat on the hassock, we weren’t able to see or use the fireplace.  (Not that we need it in this stupid 99 degree weather!)

But the joey fits, and now the receiver is in the bedroom! And we are able to see the fireplace!  Vanleigh has been awesome to work with!  They have already reimbursed us for the first couple of jobs, and we will send the latest and last of the receipts on Monday.  We are so happy with our Vanleigh home! And I hope Vanleigh goes to Lazy Days to get reimbursed from what they paid us!

The other good news is that our new mattress was replaced this morning!  No tears or rips, and it is so comfortable!  And having a queen is so much better!

Now that all the work has been done, I can concentrate on bringing out all my little do dads that I haven’t unpacked. I have bare walls for my pictures, and things that need to be taken to storage.  I’m so excited!

It’s Like A Oven Here In Chehalis!

Finally!  We were able to meet up with our very busy friends!  Gene and Aune stopped by to see our new home, to see Tully, and take us out to lunch at the Irish pub so Gene and Road Hog could play pool.  Hi Gene!  Hi Aune!

Then, this morning, we had our new mattress delivered.  Tully is on the bamboo one up above.  When we bought our new home, it came with a king mattress.  Have you ever tried making a bed in a fifth wheel that had no space between the bed and the wall?  Such a pain!

And because we knew when the guys were coming with the new mattress, we put Lucy and Ethel Louise in their crates, and set them in the kitchen.  No chance of them slipping out the door when mattresses were being moved around!

I think we will need to cut the left and right side towards the bottom since we will now have a queen size!  The area in the upper right is when we had to cut Ethel Louise out when her little body got stuck.  Poor thing.

And here is the new mattress!  Look how much more room I have!  Once it was unwrapped and laid out, we noticed something.

A tear!  It wasn’t a big tear, but the guys that delivered it and took the plastic off immediately took photos and called the boss.  We will get a new mattress delivered, and in the meantime, instead of bringing the old one back in, we will use this new one.

It has been in the 90’s here. It is supposed to be in the 70’s next week, thank goodness. Come on fall!!

Back in Chehalis!

Well, we are back in Chehalis.  The morning that we left La Conner, we were not able to dump or clean the black tank.  Not yet another problem?! Yep! Our black tank was at 67 %, so we needed an rv repair guy quick! We found this guy once we got to Chehalis.  Let me tell you about Back Country Mobile RV Repair, Jacob Haselwood out of Onalaska, WA.  (360-218-7522)(backcountryrv@gmail.com).  He came in the evening and found the problem.  Mind you, it wasn’t our fault what had happened, but it was a design flaw with Vanleigh!

When we dump our tanks, all we do is press a button.  The gray tank had no problems emptying, but when we pressed the button for the black tank, nothing.  The photo above shows the problem.  When the black tank button is push, the lever is supposed to rise.  In our case, the mass of hoses prevented the lever to rise.

Jacob found the problem and zipped tied the hoses together and away from the levers.  Boom! Black tank is empty and clean!  We sent this problem, and the bill, to Vanleigh.

It got way too hot here today!  I can do without this hot weather.  Stuck inside unless Tully needs to go out.  Who can even breathe in this hot air?

With it being so hot, there wasn’t very many golfers out there.

For dinner, Road Hog barbecued chicken that I spiced up with our favorite spice - achiote.  We also put carrots and beets in a foil packet with olive oil and salt and pepper and put that on the grill.  Best dinner ever!

This is how Tully Mae stays cool.  She is such a silly pup!  We broke the surprise to her tonight…she gets to see her buddy Gene tomorrow.  She is so excited!  She is excited to see Aune too, but Gene is her bff.

We had another repair guy come out this evening.  He is going to hook up our satellite receiver in the bedroom and the Joey out here in the living room.  Lazy days said they did it but NO they didn’t.  The cats hung out in the bedroom.  Lucy was in the cat bed, now where is Ethel Louise?

Peek!!  She is such a scaredy-cat!  I don’t mind where she is…she is on Road Hog’s side of the bed.
The repair guy checked everything out and will come back when it is a bit cooler.  At least he will be able to get our setup the way we want.  Once again, stay away from Lazy Days in Woodland, WA!

Just Not Enough Time!

We have been having so much fun while being in Skagit Valley!  John, Korynn and Remy had us over for lunch.  We had smothered pork chops, which was excellent.  I think it is now a favorite of ours!

Korynn and John live in a cute little house in Mount Vernon, which is so close to La Conner where we are staying.  Thanks for everything you two!  See you next year! Keep in touch!  Send me updated photos of Remy!  😘

We had lunch with Cindy and Dave on another day.  La Conner Pub is supposed to have the best fish and chips in Skagit County.  Aunt Jackie, the only photo I got was of the channel where the pub is located.  No photos of the food us four ate but I guarantee you that it was good, including my fish and chips! I’ll try and not let that happen again!  😏

Here is a photo of the town of La Conner from the bridge.  We were on our way to Jami’s and Riley’s beach house, Near Hope Island.

The kids were playing on the beach and in the very cold water.

Baker found Grandma!  Or maybe it was Grandma that found Baker!  Either way, it made for a cute photo!

Hudson and his friend checking traps.

Kinsley and her friend.  This was their pose.

And Kinz, I HAD to add this photo because look at those cute little tanned faces!!  Happy kids right there I tell you!

The beach house…

The view from the beach house.  It was a gorgeous day to be out on the beach!

And here we are, back home to grumpy face.  Even though Ethel Louise is a very lovable cat, her face is a bit grumpy.  She also wants everyone to know that she does smile once in a while, just not when mom is taking her photo.  (I have been unable to verify this little tidbit of information.  I think Ethel Louise is lying. 😂).

While we were camping in Anacortes, we met Bill and Geri.  (Hi you two!). They moved to the La Conner Marina shortly after we did and we are making plans to meet up down the road.  They just sold their home and became full timers like us!  They have a fancy Dutch Star motor home, and they travel with a dog and two cats!  (Best way ever!). They’re pretty busy right now, trying to take care of business, and we just wanted to say welcome to the club!  See you guys soon!

Yes, we went ahead and ordered starlink!  Wow!  What a game changer! I’m going to learn how to stream some shows.  The internet has been so quick!

There is our dishy, and if it starts snowing, it will automatically melt the snow that falls on it.  (Not that it will ever see snow!). It faces north and it took me about three minutes to set it up. We will be able to test it out while traveling to other states.  We have the RV dishy, and we will be able to get internet wherever we are if the north has no obstructions.  I’ll keep everyone informed!

A Barbecue At The Farm!

Look at who we have here!  We were finally able to meet Baby Baker!  Is he not the cutest?!  Cindy and Dave put on a barbecue at their farm.  They aren’t completely moved in but they have enough to put on a barbecue feast!  And Baker is their newest grandson!

Such a happy baby.  Kinz, his sister, was making him laugh.

Here is Hudson and Kinsley eating burgers and dogs.

Baker and Road Hog.  I think Road Hog was teaching him how to do duck lips!

God Bless America!

Hard to believe I was up this late to take a sunset photo!  I now have proof that I wasn’t in bed at 8:30 pm!

Here is a quick run down on our coming up trips!  We want to go see my brother Dwayne and his family.  He has a new grandson that we want to meet.  Then on to North Carolina to see our daughter who moved there with her family.  Eventually we would like to end up in Texas where my Aunt Jackie lives.

Wazzzup?

We were up at the farm yesterday for lunch and to help take the back hoe off the tractor, then add the brush hog.  When I say we helped, I mean Road Hog helped and I took care of Tully, and added a comment or two here and there.

It took a while, but the back hoe came off, but the brush hog didn’t go on. They worked on it today and got it working.

Here are the pups…see how over grown the grass is?  That is what needs mowed by the brush hog.

And WA-LA!  There she goes!  Looking good! (Photo credit goes to Dave!)

Mount Baker is showing off during these nice days.  This is one of the reasons why I love Skagit County.

This is what Lucy does first thing every morning…a cup of coffee and a cross word.  (Photo credit goes to Road Hog).
